Guidelines for Non-official Footer
Since the web encourages viewer feedback and response, we suggest using a footer designed with those goals in mind. This "new and improved" footer will help in navigating through the college site and direct questions and/or problems to the appropriate persons. The footer should contain the following information:
- All text should be centered and encoded using the SMALL tag.
- All pages should contain a link back to your main page, as well as related links for your pages. These related links are up to your discretion. The links should be separated by a " | ". (Web Publishing | Production Services)
- A horizontal rule to separate main information from footer.
- Copyright symbol and the year followed by a link back to the college home page. (Copyright © 1997 College of DuPage)
- Next line should contain your department or division, location and phone number of contact person separated by bullets. (Office of Your Department · OCC151 · (630) 942-2557)
- Next line should contain the e-mail address of the contact person. (YourMailID@cdnet.cod.edu)
- Next line should contain a date that the page was last modified. This will help the viewer determine whether the information is current, as well as motivate the page creator to maintain his/her pages. (Updated 15 Jan 97)
- The last line should be a link to the disclaimer statement. (Disclaimer)
This footer, used properly, should improve the appearance and navigation of our website. The easiest way to use this footer is to VIEW the source code using your browser, COPY and PASTE footer in your document and change the information for your needs.
