At the McAninch Arts Center — Buffalo Theatre Ensemble presents The Woman in Black by Stephen Mallatratt, directed by Amelia Barrett. With atmosphere akin to Sherlock Holmes, and psychological chills similar to Henry James, The Woman in Black, one of the longest-running suspense thrillers in history, will open BTE's 21st season. Lawyer Arthur Kipps employs an actor to help exorcise, through storytelling, a curse he's certain has fallen on his family. Infamous for sound effects, light cues and using the audience's imagination, The Woman in Black is a spine-tingling tale. Contains adult themes and strong language. Older Adult Institute Fall Lecture Series: Hit the Road Jack!
Have you ever had the urge to leave your routine life behind, escape an Illinois winter, and just hit the road and have an amazing adventure instead? Jack Pace did. He celebrated his retirement by loading up his tent, hiking boots and bicycle and heading southwest. His adventure covered more than 10,000 miles and included 15 states and 16 national parks. He worked on a Sierra Club service project in Arizona, encountered an impressive Border Patrol presence and met lots of interesting people from all over the United States and the world.
