Gahlberg Gallery Art ExhibitPhill Niblock. New York filmmaker and minimalist sound composer Phill Niblock makes thick, loud drones of music, filled with microtones of instrumental timbres that generate many other tones in the performance space. Simultaneously, he presents films/videos that look at the movement of people or computer-driven black and white abstract images floating in time. At the McAninch Arts Center — Buffalo Theatre Ensemble presents The Fantasticks by Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt, directed by Kevin Thies. The longest running musical in the world, The Fantasticks is a timeless fable of love, featuring such classic songs as "Try to Remember" and "Soon It's Gonna Rain." Poetic, subtle and universal in themes, BTE first produced this script in 1994, to great popular demand. The perfect springtime fare with purity and simplicity, this is a romantic charmer about love - both its initial discovery and its growth into a more mature and meaningful relationship.
