Gahlberg Gallery Art Exhibit — Susan Giles
. Chicago artist Susan Giles closes the season with a video installation about travel and tourism. Giles' artwork stems from living a cumulative two years in India and Indonesia researching the intersection of tourism and culture. Giles' video work arises from her desire to understand what occurs at the root of common linguistic and tourist encounters, and examines the shaping of self and others abroad and at home. Gallery hours: Mondays to Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Thursdays, 6 to 8 p.m.; Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; also open during Mainstage events and by appointment. At the McAninch Arts Center — Buffalo Theatre Ensemble presents Seascape with Sharks and Dancer by Don Nigro, directed by Stuart Carden. Searingly human, Seascape with Sharks and Dancer is a contemporary love story between two people full of flaws and fears. It examines the reality of love and the choices people must make to keep it alive. Buffalo Theatre Ensemble is one of five resident professional ensembles at the MAC. . Learn about the wildlife, people and processes that have shaped the prairie ecosystem as you take a guided journey through C.O.D.'s prairie restorations. Experience the Bohemian, merry-making café life in Paris of the 1830s when Maestro Kirk Muspratt brings alive the passions of four poverty-stricken artists. Rodolfo meets his true love, the ill-fated seamtress, Mimi, while Marcello is smitten by the fickle, fun-loving Musetta. As spring fills the air, these comrades band together to comfort Mimi in the denouement of her life, a destiny that Rodolfo never would have written.
