Prairie Tours.
Learn about the wildlife, people and processes that have shaped the prairie ecosystem as you take a guided journey through C.O.D.'s prairie restorations. The topic for this tour is prairie plants and their amazing adaptations. Tours last approximately 1 to 1 ½ hours. Russell R. Kirt Prairie, 6:30 p.m. Meet at lot L3 on the east side of the Russell R. Gahlberg Gallery Art Exhibit — Susan Giles.
Chicago artist Susan Giles closes the season with a video installation about travel and tourism. Giles' artwork stems from living a cumulative two years in India and Indonesia researching the intersection of tourism and culture. Giles' video work arises from her desire to understand what occurs at the root of common linguistic and tourist encounters, and examines the shaping of self and others abroad and at home. Gallery hours: Mondays to Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Thursdays, 6 to 8 p.m.; Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; also open during Mainstage events and by appointment. One-Stop Student Sessions.
All new students entering College of DuPage will attend a One-Stop Session that includes Orientation, Advising and Registration. Attendance at the One-Stop Orientation/ Advising/Registration session is a vital process to beginning an academic career. Sessions are offered Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.; Wednesdays at 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.; Fridays at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m.; Student Resource Center (SRC), Room 2800.
