a famous violin is being auctioned off. During the auction, the story
flashes back to the creation of the violin in 17th century Italy and
follows its history: from an 18th century Austrian monastery, to a violinist
in 19th century Oxford, to China during the Cultural Revolution, and
back to present day Montreal, where a collector tries to establish its

season concludes with Scheherazade, the tale of 1001 Arabian
nights, Ali Baba, his 40 thieves, and a trip aboard Sinbad's storm-tossed
ship. This all-Russian program highlights the music of Igor Stravinsky
and Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, who were inspired by the traditional folk
tales and songs of their homeland. Maestro Kirk Muspratt will engage
you with his "Musical Boot Kamp" explaining Petrouchka,
the classic tale of a puppet full of heart who falls in love with a
