Frequently
Asked Questions Especially for Library and Information Technology students
Q.
I am getting my Library and Information Technology Certificate.
Should I rush to complete all my Library and Information Technology
courses before the conversion to semesters?
A. You do not need to rush to complete all your Library and Information Technology courses!
If you do not finish all of them, simply take the semester “equivalent” course.
These equivalents are listed in the PDF file.
Q.
I am getting my associate’s degree. Should I be concerned about the
conversion to semesters?
A. You should complete any “sequence courses” in
the 2004 school year. Some examples are English 101, 102, 103 or Biology
101,102,103.
Q.
I am very worried about the switch to semesters. Should I be?
A. Don’t worry! You have enough to worry about.
This should not be one of your worries. Linda Slusar, Library and Information Technology coordinator,
is available to assist you in
planning to complete your certificate or degree. There will be meetings
and other information available to you throughout the 2004-05 academic
year. Everyone who
has started under quarters should be able to finish in the semester system.
Q.
Will the Library and Information Technology classes be different or more difficult now?
A. They will now last 16 weeks instead of 10 to 12 weeks.
All classes have been updated and should be better than ever.
They are college-level classes,
so expect
a rigorous course of studies. The 16-week sessions will allow much for
time for projects, in-depth explorations of subject matter,
and field trips.
Q.
What is the new semester plan like? Do the classes have new
names? How will I know what equals what?
A. Wow! That’s a big one. See the above PDF files to see
the new plan for both the Library and Information Technology Certificate and the Associate of Applied
Science
Degree.
