CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
Internships with companies in the area are available to all students in the program.

Integrated Engineering Technology, InET (formerly Mecomtronics) fulfills an industry's needs for multifunctional technicians competent in mechanical, computer, telecommunications and electronics. As an engineering technician, you will work individually or as a member of a professional team, applying aspects of scientific and engineering concepts in implementing existing technologies and creating new technologies.


What used to be traditional manufacturing jobs have evolved into high-tech positions. What engineers used to do five-to-ten years ago is now done by engineering technicians. According to a workforce development study, you can earn an average annual salary of $62,340 with an A.A.S. degree in this field. Did you also know that 60 percent of all jobs in technology require at least an A.A.S. degree?

Students acquire knowledge and skills in demand by business and industry in the areas of installation, maintenance and administration of computer and telecommunications systems, as well as the development, operation and maintenance of automated systems. You will learn to assist with planning and management of manufacturing processes and how to operate production equipment, and you will apply quality principles for improvement of products.

Employment opportunities are available in the fields of electronics, pharmaceuticals, food, health, telecommunications, manufacturing, computers and transportation.
