Nearly
a million people of all ages, economic status and ethnic backgrounds
recognize College of DuPage as a vital educational resource for anyone
in pursuit of self-betterment.
Today, College of DuPage is the largest single-campus community college
in the nation. Beginning in 1967 with less than 3,000 students, it now
serves close to 60,000 students each year. Of the nearly 700,000 residents
who have attended the college, two-thirds continue to live and work
in the community.
The
College faces many exciting challenges: staying abreast of technology,
remaining current with career trends, and deepening a commitment to
educating a workforce for jobs that dont yet exist.
The College also faces another challenge: more and more students are
requiring financial assistance while federal student aid programs are
decreasing.
Fortunately, thanks to the generosity of many local individuals, businesses,
private foundations and alumni, College of DuPage can continue to offer
a wide range of meaningful and accessible scholarships.
Without the financial commitments of key individuals and businesses,
College of DuPage could not have become the dynamic educational resource
it is today.
