Mission
The GED Testing Center at College of DuPage was established to assist the community with educational growth and development. We offer the unique ability to connect people with GED Preparation, GED Testing, and college classes — all under one roof. GED Test takers can rest assured that their educational goals will be met at College of DuPage.

How long is the GED Test?
The GED Test is 10 hours. Applicants can choose two five-hour weekday sessions, or one ten-hour Saturday session. Test-takers are given short breaks after each section of the test. The GED Test is divided into five sections: Writing, Math, Science, Social Studies and Reading.

Where is the GED Test given?
The GED Test is only given at College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, IL.

When and where can I register for the GED Test?
GED Registration is at College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn. You must register to take the test 48 hours or more before your preferred test date. All tests are first-come first-served.

Registration takes 30-45 minutes. All applicants must arrive no later than 30 minutes prior to closing.

How much is the GED Test?
The GED Test costs $35. Cash, check and money order are the only forms of payment accepted. Public Assistance cannot be used to pay for the test.

Are accommodations available for disabled test-takers?
Yes. If you have a documented disability, you can request testing accommodations from the GED Testing Administration. If approved, accommodations are provided at no additional charge. Contact the GED Testing office for more information.

If you think you have a disability, but do not have documentation, first contact the DuPage County Department of Human Services, Division of Rehabilitation Services at (630) 495-0500. The National Rehabilitation Information Center (NARIC) at (800) 346-2742 also may be able to help.

Test Scoring
You can receive a maximum of 800 points on each subject test. There are 5 subject tests. A minimum score of 410 on each, and a total score of 2,250 or more, are required to pass the GED Test.

Retesting
If you score below 410 on any section or your total score is less than 2,250, you must take the test again to improve your score. You have three chances each calendar year to take each subject test.
