"HOW TO READ THIS TRANSFER GUIDE"
With the start of the Fall, 2005 term College of DuPage will switch from a quarter to semester system. All the transfer guides will contain both quarter and semester course articulation information to assist students and faculty advisors during this transition phase. Quarter term classes have three digit course numbers, while semester course have Bolded four digit course numbers: For example, ENGLI 101 is a quarter course and ENGLI 1101 is a semester course. In the transfer guides, articulation tables will show a number of course articulation arrangements, for example:
Speec 100, 1100 In the above case the Speech 100 course or 1100 can be used to meet a requirement. Engli 102 + 103, 1102 In above case, English 102 plus 103 or English 1102 can be used to meet the requirement. Math 115, 1115 and 116 and 117, 1116 This case describes two situations: 1.) Math 115 equals 1115 and Math 116 + 117 equals 1116 2.) Math 115 + 116 + 117 equals Math 1115 + 1116The transfer guides are a valuable tool to assist students and faculty advisors with the transfer process. University of Illinois at Springfield is a Participant in the IAI (General Education Core Curriculum and/or the Illinois Baccalaureate Majors' Curricula).
There is transfer information covering a wide variety of topics in the "General Transfer Information" section of the Advising Handbook. The handbook is located in Counseling, Transfer and Advising Services (IC -2010) and may be useful to students.
Transfer students must have completed 68 or more quarter hours with a cumulative 2.0 G.P.A. on a 4.0 scale for all courses attempted and be in good standing for admission to University of Illinois at Springfield. Successful completion of English Composition I is required for admission. Some majors at UIS may require a G.P.A. above the minimum required for admission as well as required prerequisite courses. Students planning to transfer to UIS should review the catalog to check the admission requirements of their particular major.
Some UIS programs (Clinical Laboratory Science, Health Services Administration, Social Work and Teacher Education Preparation) require a separate application. Contact the appropriate program office or the Office of Enrollment Services for more information.
As an upper-division university, University of Illinois Springfield builds on the Associate in Arts and Associate in Science degrees of lower division institutions. In most cases, a baccalaureate degree can be achieved with only two additional years of college work (the 2+2 concept) with no loss of credit earned in an associate degree program. students with an Associate in Applied Science degree who have not already completed minimal general education requirements will be required to do so before graduation at the University of Illinois at Springfield.
Students should submit their application, official copies of all previous college/university transcript(s) and other required credentials one term before beginning at UIS for priority consideration.

Agreement Between the College of DuPage and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Online, University of Illinois at Springfield
The web-based Bachelor of Arts degrees offered through CLAS Online at the University of Illinois at Springfield are baccalaureate degree completion programs built on 30 years of experience in working with transfer and adult students. These degrees are academic programs of the University of Springfield, which is accredited by the North Central Association of colleges and Schools, Commission on Institutions of Higher Education, and include the third and fourth years of study at the baccalaureate level. They can be completed online, in the classroom, or in combination, according to individual program specifications. The current programs of CLAS Online include:
