Gospel Concert
7 to 10 p.m.
Student Resource Center (SRC), Room 2800
Historically, African slaves
were not able to play or sing their native music and instruments.
As a result, they created a new style of music called Gospel,
which incorporated traditional Christian worship with African
vocals and rhythmic influences. The church became a sanctuary
for black slaves’ artistic and spiritual expression.
Sponsored
by the College of DuPage Multicultural Student Center.
