Jazz Fest Glen Ellyn takes place in picturesque down town Glen Ellyn from 2 to 9 p.m. and admission is free. Main Street Glen Ellyn will be closed to vehicular traffic between Crescent Boulevard and Pennsylvania Avenue for the day of the fest. In the spirit of an outdoor event, bringing your own chair is encouraged and appreciated.
Purpose of the Event
Jazz Fest Glen Ellyn was created to present a unique and entertaining musical event for its participants. This annual adult focused event has been created to capitalize on the broad appeal of live jazz. It will present an exclusive opportunity for Glen Ellyn and other Chicago area residents to embrace professional live jazz performances in a distinctive main street festival environment. The 2008 festival will feature a line-up of Chicago jazz artists, a unique Jazz Garden created by Hursthouse Landscape Architects and Contractors and delicious food and refreshments.
The Glen Ellyn Chamber of Commerce, 90.9fm WDCB Public Radio, The McAninch Arts Center (MAC) and Karnes Prickett Design have joined their resources to produce and promote Jazz Fest Glen Ellyn, presented on Saturday, July 12 on Main Street in downtown Glen Ellyn.
