Kara
Molenhouse has been
a counselor at College of DuPage for nine years. Her previous work
experience includes 17 years in Financial Aid. Molenhouse has also
taught Career Development courses and worked as a destination services
consultant.
In 1991 Molenhouse earned an M.S. Ed. in counseling education from
Northern Illinois University. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in
psychology/business from Taylor University, Indiana.
While enjoying all aspects of her job, she especially likes working
with new students and those from diverse backgrounds, excited to be
the first person to talk to students about what C.O.D. and the Counseling
and Advising office can offer them. Molenhouse spent the first half
of her life living overseas. Growing up in Saudi Arabia, England and
Norway provided her with an appreciation of other people's cultures
and for the challenges people face adjusting to new cultures. Molenhouse
is excited to be working at the Carol Stream Community Education Center,
which has a career resource center on-site and can offer additional
resources for students seeking career assistance.
Molenhouse enjoys traveling, swimming and snow skiing in the small
amount of free time she has as a mom to four boys.
