Jeanne
Kempiak began counseling
at College of DuPage in 1987 as a part-time counselor at the Naperville
Regional Center and in 2003, became a member of the full-time counseling
team. She earned two master degrees from Lewis University; a Master
of Arts in education in student personnel services and her most recent,
a Master of Arts in organizational leadership in higher education
and in training and development. Her Bachelor of Arts degree was
also earned at Lewis University and she is also a certified teacher
in the state of Illinois.
She enjoys assisting her students in and out of the classroom to attain
their educational and career dreams. Simplifying the processes of college
success, degree, decision, choices, and transfer beyond C.O.D. give
her much personal satisfaction when working with students.
In addition, Kempiak teaches a course in Career Development. In the
past, she has also taught courses in new directions for women, job
search techniques, assertiveness training, and etiquette in the workplace.
She has also facilitated seminars in goal setting, study skills, and
junior high career exploration methods.
In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, reading, and playing an occasional
round of golf. She was named Outstanding Part-Time Faculty Member in
1991.
