
Dr.
Sunil Chand
President
Dr. Sunil Chand is beginning his fifth year as president of College of DuPage. One major achievement during his tenure was leading the college through a successful conversion from quarters to semesters. Current major initiatives include new program development, improved student and enrollment services, integrated management, and a comprehensive Facilities Master Plan.
Dr. Chand began his career at College of DuPage on July 1, 2003, becoming the fourth president since the college opened in 1967.
His career includes teaching and administrative leadership in India, his homeland, and in England and the United States.
Before coming to College of DuPage, Dr. Chand was Executive Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs at Cuyahoga Community College District in Cleveland, Ohio, from 1992 to 2003. Before joining Cuyahoga, he served as Vice President of Academic Services at Richmond College in London, England. Prior to that, he held a variety of positions at Triton College in Illinois, including Dean of Arts and Sciences and Director of Developmental Education, and at St. Stephens College in Delhi, India.
Dr. Chand earned his B.A. and M.A. in English at St. Stephen’s College, Delhi, India. He earned his Doctorate of Literature degree at Kent State University, Ohio.
He currently serves on a variety of boards and committees, including the following:
- Lincoln Foundation for Performance Excellence – Trustee
- Workforce Investment Board District #6 – Board Member
- The Conservation Foundation – Member Leadership Board
- The Chicago Council on Foreign Relations, Member Program Committee – Member India Roundtable
- Governor’s Illinois New Americans Policy Council – Member
- American Council on Education – Member Committee on Women in Higher Education
- College Board – Member National Committee on Asians and Pacifics
- Leadership Education for Asians and Pacifics – Faculty
In addition, he publishes and lectures on academic and organizational leadership.
Dr. Chand and his wife, Cynthia, reside in Wheaton.

Jocelyn Harney, Ed.D.
Vice President
Enrollment and Student Affairs
Harney develops policies, programs and services that provide support
to students in their academic programs. She also serves as the Student
Judicial Officer for the college. Offices reporting to Harney are
Admissions; Athletics; Career Services; Counseling and Advising
Services; Financial Aid; Health and Special Student Services; Records; Registration;
and Student Activities.

Christopher Picard, Ph.D.
Vice President
Academic Affairs
Picard develops the policies, programs and services that implement the colleges instructional mission. Reporting to Picard are the associate vice president of Community Affairs, the dean of Academic Alternatives and Instructional Support, and the dean of Learning Resources. Direct reports in the academic divisions include the dean of Business and Technology, the dean of Health, Social and Behavioral Sciences, the dean of Liberal Arts, and the dean of Natural and Applied Sciences. Areas also reporting to Picard are the executive director of the Business and Professional Institute and Continuing Education, the director of Athletics, the coordinator for International Education, and the coordinator for the Honors Program.

Thomas E. Ryan, Ed.D.
Vice President
Administrative Affairs
Ryan is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the colleges
physical plant and central services. He also serves as college Treasurer.
Under Ryans jurisdiction are Financial Affairs, Purchasing and
Fixed Asset Inventory, Human Resources, Research and Planning, Campus
Services, Public Safety, Auxiliary Enterprises, and construction coordination.

Charles Currier
Vice President
Information Technology
Currier plans all information technology relating to audio, video, computing,
media and voice services. He also maintains the technology infrastructure
and all shared computing labs. Currier oversees Administrative Systems/Development;
Multimedia Services; Emerging Technologies; Enterprising Networking;
Office and Classroom Technology; Special Projects-IT; Telecommunication
and Voice Services; and Web and Instructional Technology.
