Tuition Refunds for Credit Classes
Refunds
are given only if the requests are made to the Registration office during
the refund periods (see Calendar). All refunds
will be issued from the Accounts Payable department by check to the
student within two to three weeks of the refund request, including refunds
for payments made by charge cards. Exchanges cannot be performed through
Touch-tone or Internet Registration.
The Registration Calendar indicates the appropriate
dates and refund amounts for classes. Refunds for classes that begin
and end outside of the regular quarter schedule are determined on an
individual basis.
Youth Education
A 100% refund (less a $3 service fee) is granted for withdrawal up to
one day prior to the first class. Parents must call Registration
to request a withdrawal or they will be charged the full amount. Please
note that non-attendance does not count as withdrawal. If a class is
canceled, a refund will be issued within two-three weeks.
High
School Credit Classes
A full refund (less a $3 fee) will be granted if a student withdraws
from 1st semester classes by Tuesday, June 12 and/or from 2nd semester
classes by Thursday, July 5. After these dates, there are no refunds.
High
School Non-Credit Classes (These classes combine adults and high school
students).
A 100% refund (less a $3 service fee) is granted for withdrawal up to
one day prior to the first class. Students must call Registration
to request a withdrawal or they will be charged the full amount.
Please note that non-attendance does not count as withdrawal. If a class
is canceled, a refund will be issued within two-three weeks.
Seminars,
Workshops and Adult Non-Credit Classes
- 100%
refund (less a $3 service fee) one (1) day prior to first class meeting;

Refunds
for Field & Interdisciplinary Studies
Trip fees are non-refundable. Travel protection brochures are available
in the Field Studies office, IC (Berg Instructional Center), 2046.
Refunds
for Canceled Classes, College Errors
A 100% refund is given for a withdrawal that is caused by a canceled
class or a college error. If a substitute class is not taken, a refund
for paid tuition and fees will be issued within 2-3 weeks.
Medical Withdrawals
Direct your request for a medical withdrawal to the office of the Director
of Admissions, Registration and Records, SRC-2048B, (630)942-4284. Requests
should be made in writing and accompanied by documentation from a physician
or medical institution to verify the medical condition, date of onset
and estimated length of treatment. Requests for medical withdrawals
are reviewed individually. Refunds are issued when appropriate within
the guidelines of the College of DuPage refund policy. To request a
medical withdrawal, please print and complete this form.
You will receive written notification of the decision within 2 weeks
from the office of the Director of Admissions, Registration and Records.
Admission/Recording
Fee
The $10 admission/recording fee will not be refunded.
Lab
and Material Fees
Students withdrawing from credit classes that have lab/material fees
will receive 100% of the lab/material fees for the first 8 calendar
days of the 10-week session. Lab/material fees will not be refunded
after the first 8 calendar days of the 10-week session.
Credit
and Noncredit Class Concurrent Registration
If a student who is registered for both credit and non-credit classes
wishes to withdraw from one class, the refund policy used will be the
one appropriate for the class from which the student is withdrawing.
Appeals
Appeals
regarding refunds should be made in writing to the office of the director
of Admissions, Registration and Records. You will be notified in writing
within two to three weeks of the decision whether or not to grant your
refund request. To request an appeal in writing, please fill out this
form.
Print and complete the form and return it to the appropriate office
(refer to the form instructions for more information on the submission
process).
Payment
Due Dates
You are responsible for paying tuition for all classes in which you
have registered. You should not assume that you have been dropped from
classes if you don't pay for them by the due date (see payment
deadlines). You are still responsible for payment. BE SURE TO DROP
any class you do not wish to take.
