Your Right to Know

The English Language Institute (ELI) at College of DuPage offers a full-time, intensive English as a Second Language (ESL) program that features:

• Three levels of intensive ESL instruction — beginning, intermediate and advanced.
•  Eighteen credit hours per semester for all levels.
• Small class size (limited enrollment).
• Integrated skills courses in listening/speaking/pronunciation, reading/vocabulary, and writing/grammar.
• Individualized instruction in the Center for ESL Studies, a special technology and resource center for students enrolled in ESL/ELI courses.
•  Instructors with advanced degrees and many years experience teaching English as a Second Language (ESL).
•  A certificate of completion awarded upon successful completion of all courses for each level of instruction.

NOTE: Successful completion of the Advanced Level of ELI with a passing grade of “C” or better in all courses satisfies the requirement for English proficiency for international admission to an Academic Program of Study at College of DuPage.

ELI classes meet Mondays and Wednesdays from
8 a.m. to 12:50 p.m., and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 to 11:50 a.m.
