Mykonos

What it means to me: It was taken while we were at the port of Mykonos City, Mykonos, Greece. It was taken at the time of sunset – well before dinner, by Greek time. Myself and a couple others were about to head back to the ship, but I decide to sit down on a stoop to go over other pictures taken in and around this area. As I am heading towards the stoop, I see this shot. It captured me because there was something calming about it – as calm as the people that lived there, not only Mykonos, but Greece. It was by the main area where tourists were taking pictures, having a snack, but they were not here. It seemed like this was the place for only the locals – a glimpse into how they really live, unencumbered by the rest of the people, enjoying friendship, and the moment.
