The Writing CenterLocated in IC 3114 (942-3355), the Writing Center is open to all College of DuPage students, faculty, and staff free of charge. Part of a network of programs and services available at the college, the Center operates under the auspices of the Liberal Arts Division. |

| The Center is staffed by faculty from the English Department and is open from Fall through the Summer quarters, Monday through Friday. Consultants work with writers on a one-to-one basis on a variety of activities and projects. These activities might include narrowing a topic, focusing a thesis, deciding on strategies, and revising while projects might range from writing a research paper to writing a lab report. Some students will be referred to the Writing Center while others will seek assistance on their own. Consulting takes place during the course of a single session or a series of standing appointments; meetings are either scheduled in advance or impromptu, and last half an hour. The Writing Center also offers assistance to faculty members wishing to incorporate writing as part of their course requirements. Consultants will work with faculty members to develop assignments that will help students demonstrate a deeper understanding of their subject matter through writing. |
