CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
Management is the process of administering and coordinating resources effectively and efficiently in an effort to achieve the goals of an organization. Management occurs in all organizations, regardless of size. Environmental trends, such as globalization of business, the growth of service-based businesses and the increasing predominance of entrepreneurial firms, have a significant effect on the way organizations operate and the way managers perform their jobs.

The managers of tomorrow will be quite different from the managers of yesterday. They must be strong communicators, team players, masters of technology, problem solvers, foreign ambassadors and leaders.

The Management program at College of DuPage has taken the need for these skills into account and offers several different management courses as well as different methods for accomplishing the course content: traditional classroom, simulation classes and flexible learning classes.

Many managerial positions require bachelor's and master's degrees. However, managers are needed at every level and with varying degrees of skill. This diversity allows for opportunities in such areas as supervision, foremen, production managers, store managers, facility managers, buyers, salespersons, customer service and account representatives. Courses in the management area will benefit people pursuing a career in business and those who want to update or expand their job skills.
