Hotel/Motel Management

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
The profession of innkeeping has long been one of respect and challenge. As the world population travels more frequently for business or pleasure, it is the lodging industry that provides accommodations and relaxation for the traveler. This is a time of great opportunity for those entering this field.

The Hotel and Lodging Management program at College of DuPage provides technical academic preparation for immediate entrance into this dynamic field. A core of courses specializes in many facets of the hotel-motel management field. To gain practical experience with cooperation of the lodging industry, students may participate in a cooperative on-site work study program that is based on the student's specific objectives.

Job opportunities for graduates of the Hotel and Lodging Management programs are numerous and varied. Recent graduates have been employed throughout the hotel industry in positions including front-office supervisor, catering manager, hotel sales manager, executive housekeeper and convention service manager.

Transfer Arrangements
College of DuPage has agreements with numerous four-year hospitality schools should you wish to continue your formal education. A list of these schools is available through the program office.

Study Abroad in Switzerland
Students majoring in Hotel Management can enhance their education on a global basis through the Study Abroad program. A fall quarter study option is available at the University Center "Cesar Ritz," Brig, Switzerland. You may begin planning for this option shortly after enrolling in hospitality courses.
