OPPORTUNITIES
The profession of innkeeping has long been one of respect and challenge.
As the world population travels more frequently for business or pleasure,
it is the lodging industry that provides accommodations and relaxation
for the traveler. This is a time of great opportunity for those entering
this field.
The Hotel and Lodging Management program at College of DuPage provides
technical academic preparation for immediate entrance into this dynamic
field. A core of courses specializes in many facets of the hotel-motel
management field. To gain practical experience with cooperation of the
lodging industry, students may participate in a cooperative on-site
work study program that is based on the student's specific objectives.
Job opportunities for graduates of the Hotel and Lodging Management
programs are numerous and varied. Recent graduates have been employed
throughout the hotel industry in positions including front-office supervisor,
catering manager, hotel sales manager, executive housekeeper and convention
service manager.
Transfer Arrangements
College of DuPage has agreements with numerous four-year hospitality
schools should you wish to continue your formal education. A list of
these schools is available through the program office.
