Patient Care
The general public can bite down on an array of preventative dental services by scheduling appointments with students in the Dental Hygiene program.
 
The program is actively seeking patients – children, adults and senior citizens – to meet a requirement mandated by the American Dental Association Commission on Accreditation: Each Dental Hygiene student in the college program must experience different degrees of difficulty in treatments. Students will learn a variety of techniques under the direct supervision of C.O.D. faculty.
 
The program offers the following:
 
Service Fee
Child Prophylaxis (ages 12 and under) $10
Adult Prophylaxis $15
Full Dentition of less than eight teeth $10
AAP Type II Scaling $25
AAP Type III Scaling $30
AAP Type IV Scaling $30
AAP Type V Scaling $35

All prophylaxis treatments include fluoride treatment and examination.

Examination $5
Sealants $3 per tooth
Desensitizing Agents (Clinical Treatment) $2
Irrigation Per Quadrant $5
Temporization $5
Home Fluoride Paste $7 per tube
Home Fluoride Rinse $9 per bottle
Bleaching Trays and Product* $100

All patients are to receive a toothbrush, floss and one home care aid free of charge. Additional home-care aids are $2 each.
*You must be a patient of record to receive bleaching services.

Two Horizontal Bite-Wing X-Rays $6 (Duplicate $2)
Four Horizontal Bite-Wing X-Rays $8 (Duplicate $3)
Two Vertical Bite-Wing X-Rays $6 (Duplicate $2)
Four Vertical Bite-Wing X-Rays $8 (Duplicate $3)
Full-Mouth Series $25 (Duplicate $8)
Panoramic X-Ray $25 (Duplicate $8)
Periapical X-Ray $3 each (Duplicate $2)
Occlusal X-Ray $3 each (Duplicate $2)

Full payment is due at the initial appointment. The college does NOT accept insurance or third party reimbursement for these dental services. Senior citizens and C.O.D. students and employees receive a 15 percent discount.
