The Independent Study/special Projects program:
• Allows you to study a subject or topic of special interest

• Helps you to become more self-directed by assuming greater responsibility for planning and organizing your unique learning goals and objectives, as well as executing the project

• Provides a unique opportunity for you to cooperatively design your learning goals and evaluation criteria with a faculty member

• Allows you to interrelate several academic areas into one study project and/or combine theoretical learning with observation and/or field experience

• Provides the opportunity for one-to-one feedback and consultation with a faculty member

• Enables you to maintain a flexible schedule and self-paced learning on a project of your choice
