C.O.D. Study Abroad Scholarship
Applicants must have completed 12 hours of C.O.D. credit, have a cumulative GPA of 2.75, and be enrolled in six or more C.O.D. credit hours at the time of application. The scholarship applies to any C.O.D. sponsored study abroad program (including Field Studies, summer programs and semester programs). The maximum award for this scholarship is $1,500. The application deadline is Oct. 20 for spring programs, Feb. 20 for summer programs, and May 20 for fall programs. Applications can be downloaded or are available in the Field Studies/Study Abroad office, Berg Instructional Center (IC) 3046.

CCIS (College Consortium for International Studies)
Scholarships are in the amount of $1,000 for semester-long programs and $500 for summer programs. Students participating in a CCIS program are eligible to apply. The C.O.D. deadline is April 20 for fall programs, Oct. 1 for spring programs and Feb. 20 for summer programs.
Application is available in the Field Studies/Study Abroad office, Berg Instructional Center (IC) 3046.

ICISP (Illinois Consortium for International Studies and Programs)
Scholarships are in the amount of $500 for semester or summer programs. Students participating in an ICISP program are eligible to apply. The C.O.D. deadline is Nov. 20 for spring programs and April 6 for summer and fall programs.
Application is available in the Field Studies/Study Abroad office, Berg Instructional Center (IC) 3046.

National Security Education Program (NSEP/BOREN)

This scholarship is for language study in locations other then the United States, western Europe, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Scholarships vary in amounts from $2,500 to $20,000 depending on the length of the program. The C.O.D. deadline is early February each year.

Gilman International Scholarships
The applicant must be receiving a Pell Grant at time of application or prove that he/she will receive a Pell Grant during the study abroad term. Recipients are awarded up to $5,000 depending on the length of the program. Summer programs are not eligible. There is a $3,000 supplement for students studying “critical languages” (see web site). The application deadline for fall programs is April, and Oct. for spring programs.

WISP (Work Immersion Study Program in Germany)
This scholarship program is for students to learn about German culture while participating in a paid summer internship. Applicants must have taken at least one semester of German, be 18 to 27 years old, enrolled in a community college, and majoring in a business or technical field. The application deadline is Dec. 1 for the summer program.

CBYX (Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professionals)
The Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX) for Young Professionals is a year-long scholarship program that involves language study, academic courses and an internship. Applicants must be 18 to 24 years old at the start of the program and have a high school diploma or its equivalent. German language proficiency is not required, but strongly recommended. The deadline for the program beginning the following summer is Dec. 1.

BUTEX (British Transatlantic Exchange Association)
To be eligible to apply you must have been offered a place as a study abroad or exchange student at Kingston or Canterbury Christ Church University which are members of the British Transatlantic Exchange Association.

Bridging Scholarships (for Japan)
Undergraduate students majoring in any field of study are eligible to apply for these scholarships. Japanese language study is not a prerequisite. Bridging Scholarship recipients receive a stipend of $2,500 (for students on semester-long programs) or $4,000 (for students on academic year programs). Students studying on summer programs are not eligible to apply.
